Seattle, Wa: Windows smashed in Solidarity with Occupy Oakland

reposted from: puget sound anarchists

On Monday, February 6 around 7 P.M. The windows of three banks on capital hill had their windows busted out. Flyers were strewn explaining to passerby’s why they were targeted. The banks Chase, Key bank and an U.S. Bank were hit. We did this in response to the police actions against occupy oakland on January 28th in their attempt to occupy an empty building for use by the occupy movement. We choose banks because they are concrete symbols of the exploitative capitalist system we all live under and the poverty of everyday life within it.

Its easy to attack!

Bellevue, Wa: Ron Paul’s Windows Smashed

reposted from the mainstream news

Someone threw a rock through the window of Republican Ron Paul’s Washington state presidential campaign headquarters over the weekend.

The incident happened at about 6 p.m. Sunday, while volunteers and staff were busy working at the Bellevue office. No one was injured, though one volunteer posted on Facebook that she’d been sprayed by glass.

A Paul campaign coordinator ran outside and spotted a gray vehicle driving away from the scene westbound on NE 20th St..

Bellevue police responded to the scene to take an incident report.

“This is a regrettable incident. We’d much prefer that people air their grievances in a battle of ideas rather than through violence,” Jesse Benton, Ron Paul 2012 National Campaign Chairman, said in a news release.

Paul, the U.S. Rep. from Texas, has been organizing for months in Washington state ahead of our March 3 GOP caucuses. He’s the only Republican contender to open an office here so far.

The window-smashing incident occurred the same day the Bellevue office was featured in a Seattle Times story and photograph about the upcoming caucuses — “a possible coincidence,” the Paul campaign noted in its news release.

Portland OR: probation office smashed and painted

from PDX Indymedia

Dear bastard coppers,

We smashed up your probation center on SE Tenth and Stark and tagged it with a big ACAB and the words ‘Ya’ll are murderers.’
But you already knew that. We just wanted to write and and see if you liked it. Did you appreciate it? We didn’t like that you murdered another person. Brad Lee Morgan was struggling and you just murdered him in cold blood. Then you tried to smear him in the media by releasing his criminal record, as if some people are such criminal subhumans we shouldn’t care that you murder them. Anyhoo, we would be just pleased as punch if you didn’t do that anymore. In fact, feel completely welcome to kill yourselves. Until that happens, we’ll keep destroying everything you care about, from your windows and doors, to the very institutions of law themselves. Is that OK? Hope so.

XOXO,
Some Anarchists

Portland, Or: Police building attacked, windows smashed

reposted from Puget Sound Anarchists

In the early hours of February 1, we smashed the windows of the Portland Police Bureau’s offices in the Kenton neighborhood. It is a small gesture of our hatred of the police, here and everywhere. We did this as a response to the police murder of Bradley Lee Morgan last week, and to that of Thomas Higginbotham, Keaton Otis, Jack Dale Collins, Aaron Campbell (no settlement can make us forgive or forget), James Chasse, and so many others in the further past.

We act in solidarity with our comrades in Oakland, who continue to shine brilliantly in their actions and words, and who tirelessly carry the struggle forward in the streets and assemblies.

We insist that those who rejoice at these attacks summon their own destructive impulses, scheme with trusted friends, and act to breathe life and fire into our city.

Santa Barbara, CA: Claim of attacks in solidarity with Oakland rebels

from anarchist news:

In the middle of the night a Wells Fargo bank ATM was destroyed along with “Dont Fuck With Oakland” being painted on a nearby building. Followed by 2 Chase bank ATMS smashed and few windows. Finishing off with a Starbucks being smashed to shit. This was in solidarity with all the Oakland rebels, to Anarchist everywhere. When they fuck with one of us. They fuck with all of US. When a comrade is brutally beating or imprisoned, we come back with force. The state will learn to fear us.

From Santa Barbara to Oakland.
Fuck Capitalism.
Fuck Government.
Fuck THE POLICE

Modesto, CA: Landlord’s office attacked in solidarity with Oakland rebels

Modesto, CA: Landlord’s office attacked in solidarity with Oakland rebels

Posted on February 2, 2012 by Gabriella Segata Antolini

from anews:

Rocks took out the windows of a Modesto Property Management company and landlord’s office. This attack was carried out in solidarity with anyone who is facing a pending eviction or foreclosure. We also acted in solidarity with our comrades in Oakland, California who have faced massive repression at the hands of the Leftist City government and the local police department in actions coordinated in part by the Department of Homeland Security.

We see the struggle against those that exploit and those that serve the interests of the exploiters to be one in the same. Our hearts beat for all our comrades who have been, or who still are imprisoned within the Santa Rita jail and who have faced repression at the end of OPD’s guns and sticks.

It should give you joy to know that the landlord targeted low-income families with rentals that were infested with black mold and we encourage all of those outside of Oakland inspired by the continuous fighting in the streets and the occupation to act in solidarity as well. This tear in normalcy hopefully will give those who owned the broken property just a taste of the insecurity and horror that happens to those they evict and leech from.

Despite the power of the surveillance state and the level of counter-insurgency of the pigs – we are still ungovernable.

As the state seeks to crush the revolutionary pockets of revolt, the periphery expands with sabotage.

We remain unafraid and ready to attack.

Oakland rebels we are with you.

A Letter from Some Friends in Oakland Regarding the Jan. 28th Events

reposted from Bay of Rage – Anti-Capitalist Initiative

Let us start by apologizing; that our words may be incoherent, our thoughts scattered and our tone overly emotional. Forgive us, because the ringing in our ear continues to interrupt our thinking, because our eyes are bleary and we’re weighed upon by the anxiety and trauma of our injuries and the imprisonment of the ones we love. As most of you are well-aware: after a full day and night of street battles in Oakland, we were defeated in our efforts to occupy a large building for the purposes of establishing an social center. We’re writing, in part, to correct the inaccuracies and mystifications spewed by the scum Media. But more so as to convey the intensity and the urgency of the situation in Oakland to comrades abroad. To an extent, this is an impossible task. Video footage and mere words must inevitably fail at conveying the ineffable collective experiences of the past twenty-four hours. But as always, here goes.

Yesterday was one of the most intense days of our lives. We say this without hyperbole or bravado. The terror in the streets of Miami or St. Paul, the power in the streets of Pittsburgh or Oakland’s autumn; yesterday’s affect met or superseded each of these. The events of yesterday confronted us as a series of intensely beautiful and yet terrible moments.

Letters for Jordan can also be sent to xWriteJordanx@gmail.com and they will be forwarded to him.

In January 2012, animal rights activist Jordan Halliday began a 10-month prison sentence for criminal contempt of court.

In 2009, Jordan was found in contempt of court for refusing to testify before a federal grand jury investigating fur farm raids in Utah. After more than 3 months behind bars, he was released but was then charged with criminal contempt. “It is believed to be the first time in two decades, and only the third time in U.S. history, that someone has been imprisoned for criminal contempt of court after already serving prison time for civil contempt” (greenisthenewred.com).

Vancouver, BC: Anti-Racists Confront Neo-Nazi at Court Appearance

Reposted from Puget Sound Anarchists

Approximately 25 anti-racists attended the Friday, January 27, court appearance of Shawn MacDonald (39), a member of the neo-Nazi group Blood and Honour charged with three assaults against people of colour in the Vancouver area.

MacDonald didn’t attend his court appearance in the morning and was represented by Doug Christie, a Victoria-based lawyer well known for his defense of right-wing extremists since the 1980s (including Holocaust denier Ernst Zundel). Christie was confronted at around 10AM as he left the courthouse by about a dozen anti-racists.

Shawn MacDonald was required to attend court at 1:30PM, and by then the number of protesters had doubled, with half wearing masks to conceal their identities and carrying a banner that read “Nazi Scum Fuck Off!.”

MacDonald at first passed by the anti-racists assembled outside the court without comment, no one recognizing him until he had entered the building. However, as he left court 30 minutes later, he was subjected to cries of “Nazi scum” and followed across the street, where he ran through the back door of the No. 5 Orange strip club. Inside, he joined 2-3 other associates at a table.

About 5 minutes later, as protesters began entering the bar, MacDonald and his comrades fled out the back door into a vehicle and made their escape.

When asked why they had their faces covered, the militants responded that neo-Nazis were known to identify and follow anti-racists to their homes, citing the April 2010 bombing of a member of Anti-Racist Action in Abbotsford.

MacDonald was arrested and charged in December 2011, along with Robertson De Chazal (25) and Alastair Miller (20). De Chazal and Miller are charged with aggravated assault for setting a Filipino man on fire on Oct. 10 2009 as he slept on a discarded couch near Commercial Drive. Miller is also charged in a 2008 assault carried out by MacDonald.

All three are reportedly members of Blood and Honour, a small neo-Nazi group established in Britain during the 1980s as an organization to promote racist and fascist music. Their membership in Blood and Honour is being used by police to label their assaults as hate crimes.

Their arrests were announced by the RCMP and BC Hate Crime’s Team (established in 1996) with great fanfare, claiming they had put a dent in “organized hate in BC.” Despite this, it took nearly four years for charges to be laid in the 2008 incident, in which Shawn MacDonald was filmed by a passing CBC camera man as he assaulted Papi Ngoqo, a South African man. Similarly, the 2009 attack on the Filipino man had several witnesses step forward early in the investigation, yet it would take three years for charges to be laid.

De Chazal and Miller are scheduled to be in court on Monday, February 13, at 9AM at the provincial courts located at 222 Main Street. Another protest has been called for this court appearance as well.

Shawn MacDonald’s trial has been set for February 20 and 21.

Section 718.2 (a) of the Criminal Code of Canada says during sentencing judges must consider if a crime was motivated by hate based on the victim’s race, national or ethnic origin, language, colour, religion, sex, age, mental or physical disability, sexual orientation or any other similar factor.
