Bellevue, Wa: Ron Paul’s Windows Smashed

reposted from the mainstream news

Someone threw a rock through the window of Republican Ron Paul’s Washington state presidential campaign headquarters over the weekend.

The incident happened at about 6 p.m. Sunday, while volunteers and staff were busy working at the Bellevue office. No one was injured, though one volunteer posted on Facebook that she’d been sprayed by glass.

A Paul campaign coordinator ran outside and spotted a gray vehicle driving away from the scene westbound on NE 20th St..

Bellevue police responded to the scene to take an incident report.

“This is a regrettable incident. We’d much prefer that people air their grievances in a battle of ideas rather than through violence,” Jesse Benton, Ron Paul 2012 National Campaign Chairman, said in a news release.

Paul, the U.S. Rep. from Texas, has been organizing for months in Washington state ahead of our March 3 GOP caucuses. He’s the only Republican contender to open an office here so far.

The window-smashing incident occurred the same day the Bellevue office was featured in a Seattle Times story and photograph about the upcoming caucuses — “a possible coincidence,” the Paul campaign noted in its news release.
